Heya!

I mentioned in a different thread that I think MB should have an alphabetical index-thread over reviews.

There are lots of great album reviews on MusicBanter. Unlike regular posts which are usually interesting in the context of the thread and perhaps the time when it was written, good album reviews are always valuable and real treasures on these forums .. but unless you search for them, they tend to disappear rather quickly. You can search for them, but then you have to know what you're searching for and it makes it a bit hard to find reviews on albums you don't yet know about. An index would solve these problems and would also be fun to browse.

However, writing and maintaining such an index is a bit of work and so I suggest we go together on making it. You mods should have a central role in this, perhaps one to take main responsibility (and create the thread) and the rest to help a bit here and there. That way, should one guy take a month's vacation from MB, the thread is still updated. Second, such an index thread should be advertised a bit so that people know that when they post a new review, for example in their journal, they should post a link to that review in the index-thread.


I know making the thread will be a lot of work, but I will gladly help collecting links to review if someone creates the thread (or a proto "link-gathering-thread") and I'm sure others will be willing to help as well.

I believe Jackhammer has already started doing this. And in the thread people were told to post reviews they have done.

Oops! Last time I checked, it wasn't there, but it seems Mr. Hammer got it up quite recently. :)

Sorry about this thread then. I guess it can be about the album index review instead (or closed/deleted if mods prefer).

It is a very good idea though. I am surprised that it did not happen earlier.
