Attention n00bs

This message is directed to the recent influx of newbs to have joined MusicBanter over the last few weeks.

It's been noticed that several new posters have been abusive, offensive and generally rude towards some of the more regular and longer standing members of MusicBanter.
Notably in one or two of the 'Lounge' threads.

While the 'Lounge' is a place for light hearted, non music related topics, it's worth noticing that the forum rules still apply in the 'Lounge' as they do elsewhere.
I suggest all newcomers to MusicBanter read the forum rules if they haven't already.

While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks, or purposeless inflammatory posts.

The same goes for the tags that have been added to some threads. We know who you are and as far as I am concerned you are in the last chance saloon.

One should link the "Sluts of MusicBanter" thread as an example of what not to do with a Lounge or, for that matter, any thread on this site.

It's not just new people who have this sort of behaviour. I posted my opinions in a few threads and had older members drop the f-bomb and such on me for no reason at all. Rather unfair to just assume it's new people. I might be new to this forum but I'm not new to the internet so it would be nice to not be treated like a random punching bag just because I am a new member here. It's not very welcoming and the e-thug attitude is lame.

Not to mention that I couldn't even post my picture without a few people throwing out some random insults. Yeah, I rolled with the punches and took it in good spirits but it really wasn't necessary.

Predominantly it has, although there were older members involved too and it's been noted.

Can we not call new people "noobs"?
It feels derogatory.

If the n00bs cease being derogatory.
Then yes.

Freebase Dali 03-18-2009 09:46 AM

Fair enough.

No need to monitor the temperature in hell I guess.
:)
