its been two years since a new thread has been started about this and in light of yukon cornelius' recent grievances i thought i would start a new thread for him (as well as certain others) in solidarity

you know "fix" conjugates in the past tense like most verbs in the english language... as in you add "ed"

i created this thread with serious intent so if someone could please direct yukon cornelius to this thread or start making complaints themselves so we could get the ball rolling that would be great

I like the guy from what I know of him.

He actually seems to take the draconian rule thing a little less seriously.

When I first came to MusicBanter Sleepy Jack was the first person that I exchanged songs with and was the first to tell me that I should stick around. It took over a year for me to become more of a regular poster, but I still remember that he was my initial welcoming committee before I started posting here a lot.

The only thing I see Sleepy Jack do that seems to get people wanting to make threads like this is very slight digs and subtle personal attacks meshed in with posts of constructive criticism and reasonable arguments.

First of all, if that's what people are upset about- that has nothing to do with moderating. Secondly, I've only seen Sleepy Jack do this sort of thing when someone is thoroughly aggravating as well as being an inconvenience to others and MusicBanter.

Lastly, I think this entire thread is hypocritical. Someone gets annoyed with someone else and takes a negative attitude toward them in their criticism of that persons actions, and in response that person (or people viewing it) then gets annoyed themselves and makes a thread stating "happy posting... lets take this prick down". The only way that this thread is not completely mimicking the only thing I can think of that Sleepy Jack has done "wrong", is that it's much more blunt and inappropriate.

My advice is this: If you don't like someones attitude, that's fine, but don't make some big deal out of personality traits. The clashes with Sleepy Jack and Yukon Cornelius was just that, two stubborn people participating in not letting something pointless go. And also, just because someone doesn't fill a post with compliments doesn't mean there isn't good constructive advice there. Some of the meanest things said have grains of truth, and come on, was he really even that mean?

SATCHMO's post says it all really.

Any complaints about moderators should be made via pm to Admin, or another moderator.

Before I close this, I'll have my say about Sleepy Jack.
To the thread starter ;) and anyone else who thinks he doesn't make a good mod can take it from me, that ethan is one of the busiest mods here.
And when you've contributed in excess of 18,000 posts over a 5 year membership...come back with a valid criticism.

btw...this thread was started as a joke.
