I'm not sure you understand your own signature...

Do you find the need to swear excessively when talking about music?

after all, there are chitlin's on the intraweb that might see your expletives, and shit themselves

I feel the need to have the choice to do so, and see no point in not giving people the choice. Of course it's not a pressing issue, it's just stupid that people accept it needlessly when no one is for it. It's the principal, let each individual decide what is over the line for them personally.

Know what I mean?

You have choice

The choice to start your own forum with no swear filters.

:)

Money. Websites cost money. Aanyway, the real reason JJJ doesn't start a new forum is because of Murder Junkie. You see JJJ real name is actually this anagram:
SECSIA MIPSONS

I know taborama before it got shut down had filters for the last year. Something to do with keeping the advertisements on the site active, which was what the owner practically lived off of to keep the site up.

But I don't think I've seen any ads here.

Tried it, it never works...easier to just complain about it here, besides i don't see what the big deal is, people bypass the filter all the time and i don't see anyone ever complaining that they have been offended by it, so if no one's complaining about the use of profanities on this forum why is there censorship, if the only talk of it is that a number of members (including myself) want the censorship removed, hell, i'd go as far as to say on moral grounds, then what's the bother in removing it, to say 'just use the censor' is to me like saying, 'people are ****s, just lie back and take it'

I've actually brought this up before. I think.

I think there are more members offended that they're having words filtered on here than people who are offended by said words, i have no compelling urge to swear constantly, but i do in my posts just like i would in a nursery, and it's of an inconvenience to me when people read my posts and words are starred out, it makes it more difficult for people to read and understand.

If one person can find me a thread prior to this post in which a relevant member of MB has said they're deeply offended by common 'swear words' then i;'ll take it all back.

I don't like the censorship, but I can live with it. It's just annoying when Herbie Hancock and Bruce Dickinson get censored. I think if anyone really wants to swear, they won't have much problem bypassing the censorship system. :D
