What's wrong with my user cp?

I've posted on a few different threads but there is nothing subscribed to in my user cp to tell me when people have responded. What's up with that?

Insane Guest 09-01-2010 05:02 PM

Hey, while we are on the CP topic, I took like a summer break off this, and when I came back, what the hell? The Bigger avatar thread is gone, and when I try to change it to a simple small one, I can't either. What's going on?

Ah, thanks mate.

Freebase Dali 09-01-2010 05:15 PM

Going along with what Pete said, you have to subscribe to a thread before you will be notified that a reply has been made in it. You can do this by clicking the "Thread Tools" link on the top of a thread, while you're in the thread you're subscribing to, and then you can choose whether you want email notification or not.

ImmortalDiotima 09-01-2010 05:27 PM

Hm. I've been using another very similar music forum and it just automatically puts any thread I post to in my user cp. this forum is almost the exact same format so I guess i figured that would be the same. There's no way i can go back now and find every thread I've posted in and subscribe to it. Is that really the only way to track your posts? Oh well.

Just look at "All posts by ..." Click on your own name, Public Profile, & go to Statistics.

You've made 10 posts... Do you really think it's going to be that hard to track them down? Why don't you just go to your profile, view your "statistics" and view your posts? From there you can visit each thread and subscribe to them. It shouldn't take you more than 4 minutes to complete.

P.S...
You may not want to subscribe to EVERY SINGLE THREAD you post in (unless you only post in a few threads). That would be moronic around here.

There... a nice list of all of your posts. All 10 posts I should say, quite the arduous task... better take a packed lunch.

ImmortalDiotima 09-01-2010 05:34 PM

No need for the attitude, I'm extremely new at this forum thing. Just looking for some helpful advice. Thank you for helping me :)

ImmortalDiotima 09-01-2010 05:35 PM

Haha thanks for the link :) seems like it won't be too long of a treck. Maybe I'll just bring some trail mix...

right-track 09-01-2010 05:37 PM

Does that link actually work?

So obviously the search functions for that are specific to a user's login.

He's a she, who will spam shortly.

ImmortalDiotima 09-01-2010 05:49 PM

I'm a trouble causer and I'm going to spam?? What makes you think this?

right-track 09-01-2010 05:49 PM

She's a he. They're lying.

Freebase Dali 09-01-2010 05:55 PM

I'm just trying to cover all the bases.
Off I go.

midnight rain 09-11-2010 10:18 PM

Alright this is pretty simple. Go:

User CP > Edit Options > Default Thread Subscription Mode > No email notification

Unless, of course, you want an email sent every time a thread is updated.

ImmortalDiotima 09-14-2010 11:20 AM

This was figured out quite a while ago. but thank you!
