Advertising on the forum

So the rules seem to be that you have to be an established member to advertise music. But I would like to advertise a Kickstarter like page for a video game I'm making, to both inform people about the video game and ask for donations which would be used toward releasing the game. Am I allowed to do so?

The Batlord 04-27-2013 09:22 AM

I imagine not. You've been posting for less than a week.

I joined 04-03 it says and I imagine I have technically posted at the beginning of that.

But that was part of two questions I had, 1. being am I establised enough, and 2. being is it okay to advertise a video game. But if I can't, oh well.

LoathsomePete 04-27-2013 09:55 AM

Give it a few more months.

Got it.

Scarlett O'Hara 04-28-2013 09:26 PM

We have a members showcase thread in terms of music, so in a few months as Loathsome said, you could showcase your video game there. Will you have a demo so people know what they're donating to?

Urban Hat€monger ? 04-29-2013 01:02 AM

Asking for donations isn't allowed no matter how long you've been here.

And if any mod tells you anything other than that I can only suggest they either didn't read your initial post properly or haven't read the rules recently because the banning of soliciting donations is one of the first rules listed on the forum.

I see no holes in this suggestion.

can't believe you guys just fritter your time away like this. Then again, you really are on one helluva sweet roll...

ThePhanastasio 04-29-2013 10:38 PM

Wait, no solicitations even if an established member? I don't have any kickstarter or indiegogo campaigns, but if I were working on a film, I'd not be allowed to post my kickstarter/indiegogo link?

Just to clarify.

Even on the spam thread?

The Batlord 04-30-2013 10:13 AM

All these donut puns are making me glaze over.

Agreed. Some of these are so bad it practically makes my stomach turnover. I'd say "there's something rotten in Denmark", but I'm not danish

Occasionally there are some nuggets of wisdom sprinkled in your posts.

Trollheart 04-30-2013 12:33 PM

Bit of a sticky situation; think we're all in a bit of a jam here... time to take a powder?

Scarlett O'Hara 04-30-2013 04:46 PM

Guys please stop, it's going from bad to worse.

Trollheart 04-30-2013 07:04 PM

Don't you mean it's all getting a little stale? OW!!!

You might act all mean, but I know under that crispy exterior is delicious cream filling.
