I've gone back to page 25 where there was a two month gap in posting in that thread and the only deleted posts was a mod deleting their own post and deleted posts by spammers.

They should just PM you and explain the reasoning but this is just cowardly and pathetic.

It could have been deleted with the "permanent deletion" option. Which curiously conceals who did the deleting from other moderators.

Shoutbox deletions never show who did the work, regardless.

I'm going to wager that it's because it's a potential major source of unnecessary forum drama. It may be amusing to you, but it has a vast potential to prolong certain disagreements between members.
