The question of who can delete spam around here and close the occasional thread is not interesting to me. I'd like to see a new mod stir things up a bit, find new approaches to things, challenge the old ways, make some mistakes and get wiser for it. It doesn't have to be someone who does the job perfectly, but someone who would add diversity to the mod team and challenge the establishment a bit.

I still think a good choice would've been a highly motivated Vegangelica ;)

Although I've no wish to be a mod here, thanks for the mention :)

hahaha, she'd actually be really good if she was more active but alas she isn't :(

Yeah, unfortunately so :(

I can't claim to have seen eye to eye with Vegangelica on everything, and every point of view she had. There was even once or twice she let me know (very amicably I might add) that she didn't agree with something I had done or said.

However whenever she did, I took the time to explain to myself to her. I even think, looking back, that she was right about a couple of things she said, despite not believing she was at the time.

Regardless of whether people find themselves agreeing with her or disagreeing with her, she certainly has ideas. I'll give her that.

She'd make a terrible mod, she's too idealistic to get her hands dirty.
It's easier to criticise than actually do anything.

Well, I'm not going to claim she would make a good choice for a moderator, even if she was still around frequently. Our opinions as to why may differ somewhat though.

Theres criticism and theres constructive criticism. Varying differences, and constructive criticism of one another, is probably a good thing. Considering that Vegan always seemed ready and willing to offer her input makes me think she would be no different if she were a mod. I think the main reason she wouldn't work as a mod though is because her "agenda", if you like, would be too different from everyone elses to realistically co-exist.

I agree, and that's why I'd nominate Trollheart. I don't think there's a member here who's more committed to improving this site. If he'd put as much effort into modding as he has into the Journal section then he'd be a great mod. The fact that he'd be a one-man spam-wrecking ball is just a bonus.

Out of the people who haven't explicitly expressed that they have no desire to be mod (because tore was awesome at it :( ), I would support sidewinder, plankton, Canwll Corfe, and djchameleon.

Plankton, bob., Canwll and Goofle would all be fine candidates.
