Moving messages from PM inbox

Anyone know how to do this without losing the messages? I have 90% full but many important messages I don't want to delete and lose. I see an option for "Save as Text", but when I do that all I get is a zero byte PHP file that nothing will open. I linked it with FF but all I got was ... a blank page.

Any help appreciated. I opened new folders and transferred the files there, but that's still part of the PM box so doesn't help with the thing being overfull...

check under Documents and you should have a text file that says privatemessages with your username, todays date and you should be able to open it with notepad.

Thanks but no: I have two of those files but both are from 2012. Seems the conversion is not being made correctly, unless I'm doing something wrong?

Select messages/select save as text/ hit go?

In your In-Box, down at the bottom, there is an option to "Download all private messages as:", click the empty graphic just below that and save them to a csv file locally. Then you can empty your In-Box.
