There probably is a can thread, but it's impossible to find a band with a name that's less then four characters (or one that is comprised of two words that are both less then four characters.) This is excatly why we need a better search engine, but alas there is nothing that can be done.

Edit: Found it, try using a popular album by a band. That seems to work too.

About time someone bumped this...

I've got Tago Mago and it's just fantastic (Halleluwah is porbably one of my favourite ever 'songs'). Any idea where I should go next with them?

I suppose get Ege Bamyasi and future days next. If you'd like to be a bit more adventurous though, get their debut, Monster Movie. It's a bit raw and perfectly portrays the ideas they had - Repetitive, simple, energetic yet way ahead of its time.

Im really digging Soundtracks at the moment. The last two tracks, Mother Sky and She Brings The Rain are two of the finest songs Can created i think. Amazing stuff.

Yes, good to see fellow MBers diggin' on Can, too.

My first listen was Ege Bamyasi and was instantly hooked. Then, I bought Landed, which was a little disappointing compared to E.B..

Ege Bamyasi is an excellent record. "Sing Swan Song" is probably my favorite track from that one. I'd like some recommendations on what another good one would be.

Soundtracks (only had about 2 listens so far but its got potential)
Tago Mago (only just because i'm still not big on the second half)

Ege Bamyasi took a long time to grow on me, though I now enjoy it a lot. Tago Mago is the quintessential for my money. But there's also a lot of live CAN floating around the web, especially from the Damo Suzuki period, which is very nice, though sound quality varies widely.
