I think it's time we had a thread on it, not just to discuss the usual Godspeed and Explosions in the Sky stuff as good as it is but for the less heard of bands. Some of them I really like are:

Joy Wants Eternity
Mono
A Red Season Shade
65daysofstatic
Yndi Halda
Bell Orchestre
As the Poets Affirm
Monroe Transfer
Sparrows, Swarm And Sing!
Destroyalldreamers

Yndi Halda is amazing.

check out a band i saw last night opening for Electrelane - were very good!

The Early Years

Something in the realm of Mogwai, Explosions in the Sky, Ride and Slowdive! What a mix!!

Check them out at http://www.theearlyyears.org.uk/Download.asp

The first single was 'All Ones and Zeros' and another good track is 'The Simple Solution'

- Other bands to add to your list

Mogwai
Tortoise
The Early Years ;)
Godspeed You Black Emperor!
Fridge
Disco Inferno
Mouse on Mars
Jim O'Rourke

- I'm obvoisly a fan but mostly of EITS, Sigur Ros and Mogwai. I find myself getting bored after listening to most of these bands for too long as, let's face it, they get a bit up their own arses sometimes.... :)

You guys should definitely check out Clogs...I wouldn't say they are a post-rock band, but a very beautiful atmospheric kind of band that most post-rock fans would really like.

There's a song on http://www.myspace.com/brassland to check out.

Oh and no one mentioned 65daysofstatic. ;)
