Right. There has got to be fans here. I've been into them for around a year now and have 5 albums. I have to say Yahweh Or The Highway is my favourite but Soak The Saddle and Queen Hygiene II are both excellent too.

For those who arent familiar, they're a noise band that split up in 2002. Comparison wise... at times they sound like Gang of Four put through an industrial shredder... at other times The Contortions meets the noise-rock of Sonic Youth. They are a very acquired taste indeed.

I like them, there's only so much I can tolerate at once though by 'em. They're nice though

I think they're pretty lack luster and so is The Chinese Stars. Which is a shame because I love noisy bands.

Whatever I listened to was extremely unmemorable. I usually go to a couple different albums with a band as prolific as this and on paper I really should like. I might give it another go since you speak so highly.

I would definately say they arent a particularly consistant band, some of the stuff they've released has been trite, but i would recommend the albums i noted in my opening post. I've got ups if you want them.

I downloaded Queen Hygiene from them off of your blog... well I think it was your blog. It was called "Music, Bitches" and one of the pages featured The Incredible Flying Torture Orchestra.

Anyways, I gave it a few listens and didn't really get into it. I kind of liked it, kind of didn't. I would like to get some more albums though, since you guys are saying that their sound varies alot from album to album.

if you really like AOR check out a great copy band AIDS WOLF, they kinda took it in another direction.

I still only have Queen Hygiene, but I started listening to it again recently and I'm enjoying it more.

I think it would be great fun playing in a band like Arab On Radar. I really like Chinese Stars too. Paul Vieira is one of my favorite guitar players.

The 1985 are a band that did a similiar thing to AOR, they released two albums and i think they were perhaps a better band. Any one else dig?
