Default Book Of Knots

I can't stop thinking about how angry I am that The Book Of Knots is really never going to do a third album. =/ I just want to write a letter to all of the people who founded that project cussing them out. FUCK them. GOD DAMNIT MOTHERFUCKER PIECES OF SHIT!

How do you know they're never going to do a third album?

Is there a reason why this is in The Lounge?

Edit: Fixed

It's been so long. Do you think there is going to be another album? I mean, BOk - s/t came out 2004, followed by Traineater 2006, now it's nearly 2010 and there's not even a tiny bit of evidence anywhere to say anything is changed. What I want to know is if they're touring still, because maybe then there's hope for another album, but I have a feeling they stopped around 07-08.

For me the General Music forum is for stuff that is contributing something, like The Albums You're Digging 2 thread, 13 Scariest Albums, Discography reviews and long-term post projects that wouldn't be better suited in Member Journals. I guess I could have posted this in the Rock and Metal forum instead of The Lounge, but last night I wasn't really thinking cause I was tired.

Edit: Yeah this is in Avant Garde/experimental already. Thanks Satch.

3 or 4 years isn't really that long, especially for a band that is a side project for everyone involved. Take Mr. Bungle for example, all three of their albums were released 4 years apart. And even if Book of Knots never release another album the various members are still all releasing plenty of other stuff.

I sure hope they make another album. Do you think they're any artists like them? I want more! Really bad too.

Have you checked out any of Carla Kihlstedt's other bands, like Sleepytime Gorilla Museum or Tin Hat (formerly Tin Hat Trio)? They don't sound exactly like The Book of Knots but there are definitely some similarities. Also, if you're not already a Tom Waits fan, he's very much in the vein of BoK as well (Bone Machine is probably the way to go it you want to hear that side of Tom).

Yeah, I was digging a thread on Tin Hat Trio and I have listened to some Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, which I liked. Although the only Waits album I've heard is Blood Money, I have his discog and will eventually break into it. I know he sang in Pray. God I hope Bok makes a third album. *sigh*

I'd definitely recommend Bone Machine or possibly Real Gone if you want to hear Tom Waits at his most BoK-esque. Another album to check out that's in a similar, though sunnier, vein to BoK is the album Dose by Latin Playboys.

I've played Real Gone a few times but it hasn't broke through yet... haven't really looked up any of the lyrics yet or thought about the songs so that's probably it. Will check out Bone Machine after I get more into Real Gone for sure though, been meaning to wonder where to go from Blood Money anyway. Thank you =)
