Deathprod--Intense, ambient drones & ominous Soundscapes

Also, try to imagine how radically different humanity would be today if Michelangelo had painted 'The Akashik Field,' or if Mozart composed 'The Birth of Consciousness.'

I recently (about two years ago) discovered a group who expressed a seminal example of avant-garde music, at least from my musical frame of reference; they are one of the very few virtuosos to induce a tremendous sense of wonder.

A writer for allmusic.com, named François Couture also acknowledges that "...Deathprod's music creates its own space out of time, so the chronological aspect (or the "newness" of the music presented here) has little relevance."

Before you pass 'go,' or even pick up the dice, look for Deathprod's Morals and Dogma.


I rattle my whole neighbourhood (well, most certainly the neighbours below me) with these tracks (the first six do not appear on Morals and Dogma :

To truly capture the essence of this music, it must be played with a good sound system. The sound seems more immense than VY Canis Majoris.

So I listened to a few tracks on youtube and I have to say this is some very, very good stuff. I must admit when I first saw this thread a while ago and mention of ambient drones and soundscapes in the title I wasn't so eager to check this project out. That's quite strange actually as I usually like drone and ambient noise, but it can be underwhelming quite often. Going by those tags I can never know what to expect, to be bored or blown away.

But, I'm so glad I checked this out, even if it's on youtube, for now. This is very engaging music, some of the best ambient I've heard recently. So thank you Schranz bass for not knowing what a bump is. :) Although I'm sure if you had bumped this thread I would have payed attention as well.

These are the tracks I've heard: Treetop Drive 1, Treetop Drive 3, The Contraceptive Briefcase II Part II, Dead People's Things, Orgone Donor, Reference Frequencies. I looked up the discography and I think I'm gonna check out Morals and Dogma that you recommended and Treetop Drive, 'cause those two tracks from it were excellent especially 1.

You said in other thread that you can't use youtube, but I'm gonna post two tracks that left the biggest impression for people who might be interested and these two clips can be like a quick preview, a hook.

So this guy is a Norwegian right? I recently (a few months ago actually) listened to a Swedish dark ambient project Sephiroth, also quite good, but more tribal. It looks like there's an interesting Scandinavian dark ambient scene.
