Default in search of avant guitarist
In the early 90's I heard a guitarist/composer that I really enjoyed, but for the life of me can't remember his name. Most of the compositions I heard were for 10 to 20 guitarists all playing in unison. A delightful sound and would love to hear it again!

No. For some reason I think his last name started with an H, like James Hetfield (definitely not the guy from Metallica) Did Frith do the guitar orchestra?

I don't recall, I just know he does a lot of work with avant-garde guitar compositions.

You're thinking of the time Paul McCartney did the ROCKESTRA thing obviously.

Seriously though - Avant Garde Guitar Orchestra? First thing that comes to mind is Glenn Branca, but that was more in the 1970's.
