Sissy Spacek

What do you guys think of Sissy Spacek?
and harsh noise in general?

Bloozcrooz 01-27-2013 08:38 PM

I think she's ugly.

Freebase Dali 01-27-2013 08:40 PM

Every time I see her name in a movie's initial credits, I turn it off, because it will probably be a Lifetime sort of movie.

Also, she reminds me of a dead lizard.

catsandmusic 01-27-2013 08:53 PM

lel, i can't link but i'm talking about the harsh noise group featuring John Wiese.

anhducvt08 01-28-2013 01:44 AM

I think she is a beautiful girl

i have a couple of Sissy Spacek albums.....found out about him through his work with G.X. Jupiter-Larsen and later found out that he worked on some of the best Sunn0))) albums....the two i have are actually pretty good droning harsh noise....i would not say anything exactly new to the genre but pleasing as it can be

as for harsh noise/power electronic/death industrial.....for a few years that was all i listened to....mainly stuff out of Sweden and Germany....i still listen to Brighter Death Now quite often actually....but i have to admit that i REALLY have to be in the mood for this stuff these days

catsandmusic 01-28-2013 07:34 PM

pretty good huh?

what's your favorite Sunn O))) record? i prefer Altar V0.

bob. 01-28-2013 07:44 PM

probably the two White albums....but Black also....which is one of the ones i think he worked on

catsandmusic 01-28-2013 08:46 PM

cool, haven't heard those, but from your description, they seem interesting. so what are the albums they collaborated on? drone doom/harsh noise?

bob. 01-28-2013 09:41 PM

from what i can tell he was on Black One.....which if you really like Alter i'm sure you'd be into....a bit more straight forward with drone elements

Here’s a cool live clip

Only thing there’s a perfectly good stage behind them but they have to be elitist ****s pretending to break down barriers by not playing on stage

It’s so awesome that only the front row can see the band

Democracy!!!

There’s a clip where Lightning Bolt is actually complaining about people crowding them while playing on the ****ing floor

Use the ****ing stage

Haven't listened to Sissy Spacek in quite some time. Listened to their two first albums back in the day and liked them. However, it recently came to my knowledge that they practically are ****ting out albums nowadays. I count to 5 albums of 2018 this far! Have anyone listened to them? I will try them soon enough, just wanted to know anyone elses thoughts... Are they worth spending time and money on?

Mondo Bungle 09-06-2018 05:43 PM

yeah this one's awesome https://sissyspacek.bandcamp.com/album/l-l

Listened to bunch of these new releases today. L-L had some really nice plunderphonics-like moments, but I think I favoured the album Blear with it's stellar industrial noisy improv jams.
Overall, a surprisingly high standard for releasing 7 albums this far 2018! I wonder how long they will keep up this pace. Imagine to have a "Top 10 albums of the year"-list with all albums from the same band. (No, they're not that good... but imagine)

Loved her in Carrie. 🎃

I wonder what Sissy Spacek thinks of Sissy Spacek. I mean Sissy Spacek must in some way like Sissy Spacek I guess, but what about the other way around?
