He’s inconsistent for one

But when he hits the spot it’s good stuff and post-classical composers influenced by him tend to be really good

Check out Philip Glass' autobiography. That is one great book.

you are correct...a companion of mine completed a film music venture on The Hours and Philip Glass. he did in truth do the music to it...he reused some old material of his...Satyagraha (a musical drama I accept) and furthermore Metamorphosis

I saw Philip Glass in Manchester a few years ago with his Ensemble, and they were mesmerising. His book is excellent too. He’s a one-off. His music is perfect for film too, for example Koyaanisqatsi.
