You mean Cliburn's Tchaikovsky recording with Fritz Reiner?

Yeah, you can tell people that Bach was one of the first piano salesmen. That should confuse a lot of people!

I don't currently own the CD of my Cliburn recording of Tchaik #1 because someone "permantently borrowed" it. But I think he did Tchaik #1 with Kiril Kondrashin. The CD had a Rachmaninoff Concerto coupled with it. But that is the recording that I revere, made right after his huge success at the Tchaikovsky competition.

Had no idea Bach ever touched a piano. I wonder if he ever played any of them "WTK" tunes on a pianuh? :-)

Hey you should check out Alfred Bendel's solo piano version of Pictures at an Exhibition, it's really different but excellent. I'd also add Emil Gilels to this discussion, I have his complete set of Beethoven piano sonata's and they're all very good. Sviatoslav Richter's recording of Lizst's piano concertos 1 & 2 are also excellent.
