Claire De Lune - Most Beautiful Piano Piece Ever

Another great piece by Debussy. Don't let the fact that it was on Twilight ruin it for you, this is a timeless classic. The beautiful harmonies featured vividly paint a picture of the moonlight shining across the dark ocean. You guys have to listen to this, it's pure awesome.

.
It is a beautiful piece -- here's a better link.

For those who prefer a spicier Debussey, here's The Rays' transformation of 'Clair De Lune' (1961).

Yes it's so beatiful!

Great piece. I am a guitar player and beginner piano player working on his other piece "Gardens in the Rain" but I cannot understand much theory. I just read the music in whatever key signatures come up. But why is theory so hard to understand? And if not, then is there a more simple way to understand a theoretical analysis to this piece?

It's not the most beautiful, but it is really lovely.

I do love this piece, but consider others to be my 'most beautiful' pieces.

Never can get sick of Clair De Lune. Much better than the Moonlight Sonata, if we're going on themes of the moon.

So true - but for many people - Twilight is the only way some people will hear it -- then all of a sudden Debussy becomes a new fad for millennium generation... :D

It's very nice, true. I don't mind the Twilight context, at least more people will hear it and younger people. It seems like movie have that ability to make classical music more available for diverse audiences....

The Girl with the Flaxen Hair has a great melody.

I've been listening to some Debussy now for a few months. Didn't find out that this song was in Twilight until a few weeks ago. I don't think that should effect the music at all that it was included in some ****ty series about vampires. One of my favorite classical pieces.

Claire De Lune

You should try playing Claire De Lune with a Cello Harmony, oh God it's pure heaven

Ahhhhh Clair de lune. It's lovely. I like listening to it just before bedtime. Makes me think of flying over an ocean at night.

Anything by Debussy is amazing, though.

Yes, it's one of the most beautiful ones but Nocturne in E flat Major (Op. 9 No. 2) by Chopin is the most beautiful one for me.
