Classic Chinese Music - Water Town In Dream

This is a song i like very much these days, so i translate it here, wish you like it as well.
but it seems no music attachment available here, so if you are intereseted, you may search "梦里水乡" to taste it. The lyrics are as below:

Water Town In Dream

Pls go with me to the water town in dream, twilight of Spring,

That waves of the hands are floating in the mist,

Don't wake up those lingering memories on the willow shore,

which has turned into a wisp of smoke and disappeared in the distance.

Beautiful girls in pink dress flashed away in the warm afternoon,

Nobody could take away the ancient windows,

The Delicate boy on the shore has being waiting for a lifetime,

Why you are not his bride as you wished.

Faint lovesickness are written in the face,

Multiple separations are loaded on the shoulder,

Tears flow through the face,

All the words are still silence,

Watching at the green hills swinging on the water,

Watching the sunset glow kissing the setting sun,

I spend all my life to find that a home,

Where you are tonight?

Turn back and facing your smile,

You have seen through all my moods,

Suddenly found the remote happiness in dream is just at my elbow.

I've heard classical chinese music and found it interesting, quite pure and direct. The notes on an instrument used sometimes feel like sparkling drops of water. Didn't know they had words to them so much though, I'm used to it as instrumentals.

Humorlook,

The lyrics are pretty and the singer has a very sweet voice. However, is this actually considered classical Chinese music? It sounds like pop to me, assuming I have the correct video based on the search characters and the title you gave:

梦里水乡 ("Water Town in Dream")

This song sounds like easy listening music to me...too placid to stand out in my mind as anything but background music. However, it is very restful and I like the flute.

Agreed.

that isn't really classic chinese - it's just a pop song with some traditional instruments

classic chinese are usually instrumentals, with pentatonic scales

anyway, I prefer weirder stuff like Tat Lau's Fancy Nightmare of Water Bearer, which I can't find on youtube - the best way to describe it is Chinese Opera as played by the John Cale-era Velvet Underground

The chinese style has always appealed to me in both classical and new age genres. I enjoy the feeling and "flow."

Must be all that yin and yang :P

I quite like Oriental music...it's different and relaxing.

Here's one from Shenmue, a video game whose soundtrack was done by a full orchestra.
