Ali Akbar Khan

He's a famous composer of Indian Classical music. I recently looked into some of his work, and I have to say a good bit of it is pretty interesting. His music has a very mellow/dronish sound to it, and he utilizes the sarod quite quite frequently. So, naturally I felt inclined to listen to him.

He could be classified as either Indian Classical or Country/Folk/World, so if a mod feels compelled to move it to the other forum, then go ahead because I'm not really sure...

Well yeh of course some do. And with the internet now some people probably know more music in some places than many of the population of those places even know.
