What I wanted to say is that I'm more into piano classical music than with other instruments, but I didn't say I ONLY listen to piano music. That's why the first two ones are more known for the piano contributions and aren't considered as the best composers.

What I meant is that because I'm more into piano music I chose Liszt and Chopin as my favourite ones. They're considered as "excellent pianists", while Mozart, Beethoven, Bach and Vivaldi are "excellent composers". I didn't say I was only going to choose pianists. Don't know if I wrote everything correctly.

Dear Merlin, Schoenberg is amazing...

No certain order, but here I go:

1. Schoenberg
2. Ysaye
3. Prokofiev
4. Vieuxtemps
5. Wieniawski

I'd like to add that I love Lalo's Symphony and Sibelius's Violin Concerto among many, many other pieces... And I particularly enjoy the taste of tortured souls in music, so that may play a part in the above choices.

At the very top of my list J S Bach.

Then in no particular order :-
Arvo Part
Durufle
Hugo Wolf
Schumann
Schubert
Beethoven
Bartok
Mozart
Handel
Ravel
Mahler. - - - - the list could go on & on . . . and OK that’s more than 5 but reducing favourites to so small a number is for me an impossible process.
Actually I’m more interested in people’s pet hates in classical music. On my part there’s a huge portion of English symphonic rubbish written in the late 18 the century. I’d add most of Philp Glass to the list too.
