Repressing disbelief in Classical Music

My negative reaction to some passages in Classical Music, especially opera, have gotten me into more arguments than I can remember. Instances :--
The final movement of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony contains a brief passage I hear as a villiage Salvation Army band wandering onto the stage.
Mozart’s much loved ‘Queen of The Night’ aria often has me giggling. To my ears a ridiculous way to portray a curse. I’ve confessed in this part of the forum previously, much of classical music I find difficult to take seriously.
I’d be interested to hear from anyone who has similar reactions to specific passages. I’m well aware though that the vast majority of the great unwashed find all classical music, if not a joke, a pain in the = = = = =
