Hank Williams III

I just found out today that Hank played bass for Superjoint Ritual
what a waste of talent for such a talentless band

My favorite Hank III tunes:

Cecil Brown
Beer,Bait, and Ammo
87 Southbound
Pass That Bottle To Me
Pop Country Really Sucks

Real genuine sh1tkicker country

Hank III's metal band ASSJACK is pretty cool too

I hate that nobody posts in this forum, let's try to get some more threads happening in here. The folk forum see's more action than this one :yikes:

Why is that shocking, folk never sacrafices its credibility on a large scale like the pandering "cowboys" of country.

Face it junkie, the great country acts of today are either close enough to folk to go there or are so few and far between that its tough to bring anything up about them.

How about a forum merge then???

Saw Hank III for the first time last night. First time also seeing the Murder Junkies, and they opened up the show with so much energy. I can't even explain how kick ass they are. They ended their set with I Wanna Rape You, that made my night. (BTW, do you have any post-GG mj stuff that you can share?)

Hank III's country set was pretty good, his Damn Band is really talented. Can't beat Joe Buck and the upright bass. But by far the best was when the lead singer of Assjack joined them for a few hardcore songs. The whole time I was thinking, "Wow...Hank III is a ****ing badass!!!" Was too ****canned and ready to shake my ass off at the club to see the Assjack set.

Pretty much the only show where you have an equal number of punks and cowboys in the same room. :D

Other good songs I'd add are Pills I Took, Country Heros, Smoke and Wine, and Thrown Out of the Bar

MURDER JUNKIE 06-26-2006 09:48 PM

Yeah,that's the one

The whole Straight To Hell album is the TITS!!!!

MURDER JUNKIE 06-29-2006 02:33 AM

You need to get: GG Allin & The Murder Junkies
Savage South - Best of 1992 DVD

He sings " I Wanna Rape You " about 4 inches from a girls multi-pierced Vagina http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...p/badteeth.gif

It's pretty classic, all in all it covers three shows. The second one is absolutely BRUTAL, he must get punched in the face about 50 times

Straight to Hell is damn sweet and Risin Outlaw gets quite a few spins.

MURDER JUNKIE 07-31-2006 10:43 PM

Broke,Lovesick, and Driftin' is a more traditional album, but it is quite nice to relax to

Proud_Canadian 08-07-2006 07:59 AM

I have a few of his songs on my comp. He sounds alot like his Grandfather.

Alo 08-07-2006 09:49 AM

Never heard of him! Do you have any music I could listen to by him?

MURDER JUNKIE 08-07-2006 09:55 AM

I'll upload some in the country music sharing thread this week

This needs a bumping even if its really old.

Hank III is doing his grandaddy proud for sure. Everything he has done is pretty good although I was less on the new album from this year than the others. He does live shows near me but I'm never able to make due to my age/getting a ride/money to get there, you know? I'm a HUGE fan of his though for sure. I don't know what makes him so addicting to listen to but he is man its crazy. My favorite active country act for sure and there is some great ones out there.

Good bump - and I completely agree with your statement above. I guess talent skips a generation sometimes.
Here's a classic..

Agreed! I adore Folk but Country just doesn't do anything for me. Thanks to Loathsome Pete though I do enjoy Gothic Country. Then again, to me, it just sounds like tenebrous Folk music.

I'm a big fan of Hank III. He sounds more authentic than any mainstream country artist nowadays.
