Default Check out this album

Wake up Dead Man. I don't really know how it came about, and I don't know if I want to buy it because I don't know where the money is going. But the songs are pretty f*cking cool.

Default Wake Up Dead Thread

It`s ironic that this long-abandoned thread was first opened to promote an equally long-abandoned music: the a capela work songs of black convicts.
The album that TheBig3 is recommending has a startling authenticity about it; the monotonous thud of the hammer and the group singing are instantly evocative, but do not necessarily make for easy listening.
You can hear bits of it on amazon.com, but the album doesn`t turn up in many other searches, so I can`t really guarantee that this clip is about the same album: but if it isn`t, the sound and source are so similar that only TheBig3 will notice the difference :

This album reminded me that one of the merits of folk music is that, by definition, it embraces the work of obscure people, not necessarily credited as musicians, but who have created music none the less.
I wonder what other arcane material have you guys dug out from some dusty archive or remote corner of the internet ?
