...I had the vinyl of Any Day Now...when it got to cd it was Baez sings Dylan...I wore that album out...I Love Joan Baez singing any Dylan songs...

this song wasn't on it...but one of my favourites...Forever Young by Joan Baez...

*******

may Your Hands always be busy...
...may Your Feet always be swift
and may You have a firm foundation...
...when the winds of changes shift
may Your Heart always be joyful...
...and may Your Songs always be sung
and may You stay...forever young...

I`m not really a fan of Dylan covers. A lot of the ones I`ve heard never seem to struggle out from under the giant shadow cast by Dylan`s own originals: IMO most of his songs are so permeated with his personality that it`s difficult for another artist`s interpretation to take.

So the cover versions I like are generally of Dylan`s less epic songs, where he has left a bit of room for someone else to add something to the song. Most of the ones I`m thinking of are on Il Duce`s list :

Johnny Cash - It Ain't Me, Babe
...to which I`d add these :

Time Passes Slowly by Judy Collins
You Angel You by Manfred Mann
It`s All Over Now Baby Blue by Van Morrison
