They definitely have that personal feel that was the whole reason that folk ever appealed to me. Very very americana/appalachian. I know I've heard similiar vocals somewhere else but I just can't put my finger on it. They're very stripped down. And they're from North Carolina.

They're ok nothing to brag about, I can easily find a better band than these guys on the intrnet. But they did have some creativity they gained some points on that one.

Better how? I don't really see where and how they're lacking and you didn't say either.

Well since i'm not a big fan of folk I'm not the best person to ask but their missing that well needed power that I feel they're missing.

I do love folk music, but theres something not so good about this, not sure what, i dont think the drum in My Oldest Memory does anything, it sounds shocking. Hmm, theres much better folk bands out there.

Just my opinion.

Ok, im going to stick my neck out here and say i love Hymns for a Dark Horse, beautiful melodies and harmonies with i think really inventive song structures, i dont understand the apathy towards these guys.
