So I looked and the new festival is the Muddy Roots Music Festival in Cookeville, TN on May 28th, 29th, 30th. Looks like a hell of a lineup.

I saw that. It looks like it will be a hell of a weekend for the lucky attenders. I, on the other hand, am on the West Coast and the closest thing to it is Pickathon. Although, there is no shortage of festivals here.

Well, there's a few festivals in, or relatively close to, New England but with work, kids and other life factors it's hard to get out them. Plus, they're often wicked expensive. I wanted to go the the Joe Val Bluegrass Fest a couple of weeks ago but it was well over $50 for a Saturday day pass. Last summer I won tickets to the Grey Fox Festival which was cool. The other issue that I run into is that no one else around me listens to this stuff. I'll go solo to shows at places like the Iron Horse or at the Indian casinos in Connecticut if it's someone I really want to see. There it's easy enough to hang out with a coffee and something to read until the lights go out, and I almost always run into nice people.

hey, what's up? i've recently been getting more and more into gothic country. i started with, as i'm sure many others have, those poor bastards. from there i went to the pine box boys and reverend glasseye. and now the list just goes on and on. actually, i got found a majority of the bands that i listen to from this thread. i was just wondering if anybody has heard of hogscraper. i stumbled upon them on last.fm about a month ago and have been unable to find their self titled album anywhere. if anyone could help me out that would be awesome. i would post their myspace link but i am brand new to this website. and this is actually my first post.

Hogsraper's new to me but I'll be on the look out for them. Thanks for the heads up.
