A Beautiful Life - Complete Sandy Bottom Bluegrass Band

I was scrolling through random austin bands yesterday when I came across this bluegrass band. After watching for a second I was like wait, is that my government professor on the drums? Sure as ****, its him. I went and saw them play live last night, and I'm pretty sure he was embarrased that I was there. It was an awesome show though.

I like the sound of this.

I read today that Steve Martin and The Steep Canyon Rangers won Entertainer of the Year at the International Bluegrass Music Association Awards last month. Steve Martin gets bluegrass award

I'd heard one of their songs before, but I didn't fully realize that Steve Martin is a "real" musician with a "real" band that is well-known for their music and not just for comedy.

So I was curious to hear more of their music. The song "Jubilation Day" amused me, especially the lines that go: "In my dreams you wear a red cape and pitchfork."

They really do play very well and the lyrics are cute. Cruel...but also cute.
