Default Gumbo Diablo

One of my latest indulgences. I love odd instrumentation and these guys deliver. On Maria Christina its two accordions, a sax, and a drum kit. Let me know what you're thinking:

Spirit of Louisian'

Maria Christina

They also do a killer version of House of the Rising Sun which I can't find a Youtube of so you'll have to visit the bands site: Story

.... and you forgot to mention the washboard !
Yes, they have a great sound; Louisiana accordian music, with a rough edge. Your clips put me in mind of The Balfa Brothers, but perhaps you already know them :-

What the hell language is that?

I'd never heard of them before, but they strike me as a group closer to the Hackensaw Boys, or slower blue grass.

For me, theres a slow boggy dreg to GD that appeals to me. I wish I could find more artists that held that style more consistently.

^ Haha!
I just found this clip on you tube. Maybe that`s what you have in mind :-

Now I`m going to checkout the Hackensaw Boys that you mentioned and after that I`m going to google,"slow boggy dreg".
