Guy Clark

Sorry folks, for a thread start this is going to be sparse because I jsut wanted to talk about him and I thought for sure there would be a thread on him.

Guy Clark, to me, is the Radiohead of roots music. He's got simple things going on but he can paint an atmosphere that can transport and transfix. Its hard not to imagine being on the open prarie when you hear this stuff. And for the MB ancient, he always makes me think of Savannah when I hear him because she introduced me (which is why I assumed there would be a thread.)

I feel like I should be depressed, but instead I feel zen, like I was Papa Bear himself, sitting out on his boat watching the sun going down. Contemplating suicide, and the coming journey, and that sweet tail I took down in Paris...

Saw him play a couple months ago, one of the few shows I've gone to by myself where I didn't actually feel alone. This man... has had an impact on me at all the right times in my life. Hemingway's Whiskey is also a personal favorite.

Don't think there's an "e" in his name though.
