Default Vote for a FAIR album before April 30

Every two weeks the Folk And International Roots Album Club votes for an album that they will listen to and discuss in the coming weeks.
Anyone can vote in this poll, but if you vote, please follow through and be ready to discuss whichever album wins the poll.

Here we are again, back after the break, with some fresh albums to consider :-

Below The Bassline by Ernest Ranglin (1996)

This is a jazzy look at some early classics of ska/reggae by Ernest Ranglin, an electric guitarist who has helped out The Wailers and Jimmy Cliff among others. On this instrumental album he fronts an acoustic band which includes some great piano playing from Jamaican legend, Monty Alexander.

Songs From a World Apart - Lévon Minassian and Armand Amar.

Solar Shears by Shooglenifty (2001)

Shooglenifty do more than just add an electronic gloss to Celtic-sounding music, they create a convincing marriage of techno and traditional elements to produce “hypno-folkadelic” or “acid-croft” music. Play it loud to hear all the delicious details, and to understand why this band chose, for their name, the Scottish word that means “shake or agitate”.

A really mixed bag of material this week. Seems like the hardcore three of us in this club have been exploring some very different avenues recently. As always, many thanks for making the effort of sharing your discoveries here

Looks like Ernest Ranglin is the winner in this poll, which means that on May 7th we`ll open up a discussion thread for him and his album.
Also on May 7th there`ll be another poll for choosing our next album, so, as always, any new nominations would be very welcome.
