Vote for a FAIR album before July 31

Every two weeks the Folk And International Roots Album Club votes for an album that they will listen to and discuss in the coming weeks.
Anyone can vote in this poll, but if you vote, please follow through and be ready to discuss whichever album wins the poll.

Happy to say that we have seven exotic albums to choose between this week. Rather sadly, though, I feel we should be putting this first album from stp, with its beautiful cover photo, on LAST CHANCE status :-

OK, it`s been around a long time - in fact it`s been around since before Americana was a commonly used term - but this is still my favourite LK album. He covers a couple of Fahey compositions, but with this album it`s tempting to say that the student has outstripped the master; seven tracks of sparkling, unadorned acoustic guitar and four vocal tracks

Now let`s get voting ....

I picked up Corky's Debt recently. I don't know a lot about Mayo beyond his work with Pere Ubu and I've heard a little Red Crayola. It's kind of a weird and eccentric listen the first time through but there is definitely something there that keeps me coming back. I love records like that.

All these names you mention, Mayo, Red Crayola, Pere Ubu are all completely new to me, but the name of Frownland`s nomination, "Corky`s Debt To His Father" is so intriguing that I look forward to hearing it further down the line.
For the moment though, I`ve voted for stp`s Armenian recommendation even though it doesn`t look set to win.
And how about you, Holerbot ? Have you honoured the poll with a vote yet ?

I voted for Mayo just because that's the only one I'm really familiar with, but I will check out some of the other titles mentioned definitely. My favorite folk/world album of the moment is a record of Gypsy music that Yul Brynner did for Vanguard back in the 60's, so I'm always open to new things.
