Matthew & The Atlas

A friend recommended them to me today. If you love that rootsy folk stuff witha celtic tinge, these guys might be your jam. Try these two songs and let me know what you think. (And by you, I mean Lisnholic since he's the only one posting in this forum)

Yeah, not bad. Might have to keep an eye on these guys. Vocals on the first track remind me of Bonnie Prince Billy but checked their Facebook and I don't think he has his finger in this pie yet ;). Nice to see a banjo in there too. I've been looking for some good banjo.

I definitely enjoyed those tracks, thanks for posting them, I will keeping my eyes out for a debut album.

Yeah, I liked them too. It's good to see folk artists doing that kind of thing. But it's hard to find ones that do rootsy/ Celtic folk well, especially nowadays when lots of artists are starting to go that route.

 Thank you, Big3. Good to see that you`re still alive. As you can see, there are now a few other guys regularly contributing to this forum too.
In fact I`ve been really busy lately, ( mainly with work, home repairs and other humdrum stuff), but it means I haven`t been posting much or discovering any new sounds. Most of the time I`m just trying to keep pace with stp !
Anyway, I gave these two tracks a go and enjoyed the second one particularly. I felt the first one was a little too well-behaved for my liking; I enjoyed much more your earlier discovery; the swirling don`t-give-a-damn style of Gumbo Diablo :
