passanger

i heard this song by passenger, let her go and just wanted to share it with you.
i had heard the song a couple of times and seen the video and thought this sounds different. a sort of mixture of sounds a bit country a bit bluesy a bit of folk and some rock. it turns out that mike Rosenberg who was in the original band named passenger kept the name on when he went solo. the band cited that the reason they broke up is because of mike Rosenberg insistence on singing with a ridiculous mock foreign accent" that now seems to be what makes him different.
turns out he started to get a name for himself here in Australia going to the music festivals and started to get a following. he recorded his album in Sydney and was joined by some of Australia best talent. now has a hit album and touring with Jools Holland, Ed Sheeran and joined Australian acts the John Butler Trio, and Josh Pyke with a co-headlined UK tour. He also opened for Ed Sheeran's 2012 North American tour [7] and also in Paris.
i like the use of banjos and what looks like some sort of ukulele. a mixture of folk/rock, blue grass and Irish folk lore.. reminds me of another band i like Mumford and sons. hope you like.

I love Mike and his music so much. Have to listened to "Hearts on Fire" that he did with Sheeran? Absolutely fantastic.

yeah i had a listen great stuff. i recognize ed sheeran from a few years ago with that song the a team. both are great in themselves. another one along the same lines is Mumford and sons. there is something about that British folk music that has a Celtic sound. i know Irish music is famous IE u2 and that but there are many bands out there that are great playing locally as well. i use to live in chesterfield England and there is a pub in the middle of the town called the market pub which has live music and many folk rock bands and musos as does all over Britain.

i just want to share this song i saw with Mumford and sons. they are playing with Laura marling who is another great folk singer but its the Indian music they play with that really makes it sound like they are enjoying it. they somehow blend it all together and it sounds great.

Hahah I love how Laura sings like the Indian people kinda but in English. She literally has the tone quality of an Indian singer. So interesting. :D

yeah i think her and Mumford and sons become a bit Indian and the Indians become a little like them. it just blends so well.

Passenger is AMAZING! I haven't heard a song yet that I don't like. "Let Her Go" is one of my favorite songs too...I've had it stuck in my head for awhile. Love Mumford and Sons...I don't know which I like more "Babel" or "Sigh No More"...probably "Sigh No More". Also Ed Sheeran is good too. "A-Team" and "Give Me Love" are good.
