Default Susanna Hoffs (The Bangles)

Anyone a fan? Or a Bangles fan? I think she's truly a talented acoustic artist. I listened to her rendition of The Water is Wide and I think it's truly fantastic (though I JUST recently found out The Water is Wide is an old folk song? Confirm anyone?).

I have been a fan of the Bangles for years, more so when they were popular. I agree, Susanna Hoffs is very talented and I saw a movie a few months back that had a lot of songs by her in it called Red Roses and Petrol. I believe I read somewhere that their soundtrack is coming out soon so I would check that out if you are a fan. As for the rendition of The Water is Wide, I would like to know if that is an old folk song as well.

She has a very sweet voice, but I think a lot of the Bangles stuff is over produced. I heard her 2nd solo album recently and thought it was pretty good. I also liked he covers album with Matthew Sweet. I think he is producing her next record, and that they are also working on a 70's cover record. She still looks great too. I believe she just turned 50.

I love this song...I looked it up on Wikipedia (who knows how reliable that is...) but it looks like The Water is Wide is an old folk song, also called O Waly, Waly and it's been recorded as The Water is Wide a number of times. Bob Dylan even has a recording.

That makes sense. Yeah I saw the movie not long ago. It has Malcolm McDowell in it, and the soundtrack is pretty good. I mean c'mon. Irish movie + Flogging Molly = ACTUAL Irish movie.

I sure do hope it's April! That film had a lot of Flogging Molly so I want the soundtrack for that also.
