Second Language English Speakers

Why do some Musicians whose English is their second language sometimes use the wrong tense and abbreviations in their music? Obviously, English is not their native language, but you'd think there's a whole team behind researching this and writing the lyrics right. A musician is a trade, so they should be able to sing any words put in front of them. :dj:

It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can remember your name
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain

Poetic licence. Native speakers do it too. Some even acknowledge it, like the poet D. Carter:

"Whenever they make them I shall hayve them,
Oops I meant have them".

He got early warning
He got muddy water
He one Mojo filter
He say I know you, you know me..."

As a language teacher myself, I would've told Lennon to redo this piece of homework.
