This is the second of a two volume set featuring various groups and performers of mor lam (spelled "molam" on the album cover) & luk thung music from northeastern Thailand. This is the better of the two, in my opinion...

Great comp, never heard it referred to as "mor lam", I've only seen "molam".
Thailand also has a genre called shadow music that is much like molam in that it's surf rock viewed through the lens of Thai musical traditions.
I didn't notice your post at the time, Psy-Fi, but this album turned up this morning in my youtube rec algorithm thing - and who can resist a title like "Shadow Music of Thailand"?
It's a wonderful compilation, but of only 3 bands, so it's not all over the place. Having listened to most of it, I now have a doubt about that wonderfully mysterious title: is it in fact a nod-and-wink ref to Hank Marvin? because the music makes me imagine that when the Shads took their Summer Holiday with Cliff Richard, they might've stopped off in Thailand and recorded a few tracks...
As well as the music, the full youtube page has the tracklist, plus this explanation in case anyone is interested in exploring:-

this compilation is one of sixty most beatiful, interesting, profound, original, harmonically complex, underappreciated and comfortable albums we succeeded to find in three years of extensive youtube search in which we listened to about three thousand albums. we organized those jewels in three playlists with twenty albums on each and here's the link to the first one if you're interested: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...vR5UpyrD-ZOJXb
