Default Willie Nelson

Willie is awesome, from his solo work to his colaborations with Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Ray Charles his vocals, song structures and "flaminco" guitar styles are pure genious. His role in Half Baked was funny as hell, and his latest album got pulled from walmart stores because of the cover (walmart versions have a differant cover now). Anyone heard any of his new "country/reggae" album?

original/walmart cover=

When I first heard about this album someone described the cover (original) as being like an oversized tobacco rolling paper packet.
I believe the album contains a reggae song written by Johnny Cash.
Ha, can't believe Wallmart changed the cover. Next time I'm in Asda (Wallmart owned )
I'll check if they've changed it too!!

I think the JC song is "Worried Man" and I think this because they mention it on the Willie/Johnny Storytellers (VH1). WalMart is a detriment to music and the only redeeming quality is that kids can at least get music they would otherwise be banned from. I love Willie but his cover of Tom Waits "Picture in a Fram" was a little subpar for me. Then again, im a Tom Waits super fan.

anything from Tom Waits would be difficult to cover and still sound as good as the original.

Oh yeah hah, Nirvana had to edit the foetuses from the back of the In Utero cover and change the song title 'Rape me' for wal-mart too.

I've been listening to his Cindi Lauper cover "Time After Time". Never thought I'd like a Lauper song, but it stuck on me for some reason.

^i had that downloaded at one time, it is one of the few times where a cover is better than the original, and i actually like lauper; its kinda like johnny cashs cover of Hurt, much more emotion put in it after all they are both country singers which put a big emphasis on emotion (or at least they did back in the day)

One does have to wonder how much emotion goes into writting "She thinks my tractor is sexy"
