Kevin Richard Martin and Justin Broadrick's band from the 80s and 90s definitely existed, yeah

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

The fact it hasn’t speaks to the posters’ maturity. Or inertia. Or something.

I have no idea what a belief in God would feel like, it's profoundly alien to me. But I'm increasingly convinced that familiarizing oneself with theology is worth the effort.

agree, think there's something profound about religious experience and community. i'm specifically interested in witchcraft more and more these days and the whole prospects of these indigenous practices that were wiped out by christianity. the connection to the past to my ancestors to nature to the energy in myself and surrounding us all seems so much more important than anything as it is everything.

though, i also believe that everyone's religious experiences have validity to them and that different folks are describing the same forces from the vantage points that they've learned how to make sense of what they may see, feel, in these experiences.

I have my reservations against the abrahamic religions given trauma I went thru my life but don't doubt the power behind these religions as well and power to the folks that don't utilize their beliefs in this part of religion as leverage over others and allowing for bigotry... Jesus would have been totally against that. As far as Judaism and Islam go I've learned a lot in the past two years that's been really intriguing for how they operate and what different folks get out of their beliefs in them.

Other than witchcraft I'm interested in learning more about buddhism and have enjoyed what I've learned so far of it! Feels compatible with my worldview and how I'd like to further myself into my values.

Religion is awesome

I was an atheist when I first defected out of southern baptist christianity. Then I considered myself agnostic until maybe 2 years ago when I started thinking more about stuff with religion but didn't really make much effort until last year reading about buddhism and having people introduce me more to what witchcraft entailed.

Sounds like you could get into Latin American liberation theology, it's the unabashedly leftist stream of Catholicism that emerged in the 1960s
