If that civil war happens, I'm gonna enjoy mowing these things down.

I'm not a extra large bag of "hate speech free" Cheetos tho.

I'll be honest, as much as common sense gun control makes... sense, the idea of restricting your ability to defend yourself does bother me. It seems less like a desirable outcome and more like, "Yeah this is **** but you like kids not getting shot, right?" Relying on government officials to keep you alive is kind of balls.

I took karate, I don't need no gun.

On the real though, I think that people who feel defenseless without a gun (yes I know you didn't exactly say that, bat) are huge pussies who probably couldn't even defend themselves with a gun if they needed to.

Does it not make you feel at least a little like a government ward that your safety is dependent on people who are legally not required to protect you but only to investigate your death after the fact?

I don't have a gun and I don't mind relying on the police, and I don't disagree with gun regulations, but the idea that my own safety should be farmed out still reeks of 1st world complacency that is only possible so long as Western civilization remains stable. It's a mentality that is allowed to exist because it can be allowed to exist rather than what would be reasonable in any other time and place in history. TBH it's perfectly reasonable that people would be slow to adjust.
