Once the riots turned into demonstrations and became about reform instead of revolution all was lost. American cannot be reformed.

I thought maybe the military would let loose and kill thousands or switch sides

I wasn’t expecting it but I also wasn’t expecting it to be appropriated to another reinforcement of the status quo so easily. The government did a great job of arresting people instead of killing them and reclaiming the perception battle. Like it or not, Trump got his law and order. In the same way we said yes it’s ok for covid to kill as many people as it can the economic show must go on we also said yes to the continuation of the 400 year winning streak of white capitalism against brown liberation.

If George Floyd had been arrested peacefully his life would be just as ruined. What was he looking forward to? A life of slavish subservience to a power structure that never forgives. His death was brutal to watch but had it gone smoothly the suffocation would’ve lasted thirty more years.

I mean the riots and protests were never going to amount to much without real upheaval to feed them into becoming something more but Trump's dip**** handling of them widened the polarization gap just that little bit more than it already would have. There still needs to be a real massacre somewhere for it to amount to anything more than just another blip on the civil rights radar but the police did not actually do a great job. They just did the job everyone expected more or less, those expectations depending of course on who you're asking.

Windows of opportunity are very far and few between. Persistence and perseverance don’t add up. There’s no such thing as progress. It’s winner take all.

It's not about persistence and perseverance. It's about demarcating the sides of the culture war until the middle breaks and there's real war in the streets. This was a blip but every blip helps.

I hope so.

D.C. Guard members, typically deployed to help after hurricanes, floods and other natural disasters, say they feel demoralized and exhausted. More than 60 percent are people of color, and one soldier said he and some fellow troops were so ashamed in taking part against the protests that they have kept it from family members.
“Typically, as the D.C. National Guard, we are viewed as the heroes,” said another soldier, First Lt. Malik Jenkins-Bey, 42, who was the acting commander of the 273rd Military Police Company during the first days of the protests. But last week was different, he said.
“It’s a very tough conversation to have when a soldier turns to me and they’re saying, ‘Hey sir, you know my cousin was up there yelling at me, that was my neighbor, my best friend from high school,’” said Lieutenant Jenkins-Bey, who is African-American.

If they had switched sides...

That’s everything

How many bricks did you throw?

It's easy to volunteer other people to get their skulls cracked or get arrested for the sake of your revolutionary fantasy.

I'm not advocating anything, nice deflection though.

Bottom line is if you want a war so bad then do something about it instead of whining that the protests are too peaceful. It's very typical of larpy white online socialists that you just want minorites to do the dirty work of burning down their own neighborhoods so you can fap to a revolution that isn't actually happening.
