Nah, his whole act was based on what a nice guy he supposedly was. The suspension of disbelief is gone and his whole schtick is tainted. Chuck him over the boat.

And despite any of that, The Cosby Show is still perhaps the most iconic black American sitcom of all time. That's why the revelations that he date raped so many broads was particularly devastating. Just to have to imagine Dr Husktable sticking his old black dick into some drugged up broad. And then in the next episode he's teaching Theo how to inconspicuously slip the pill in a lady's drink

Exactly, Louis CK being pervy doesn't really change anyone's opinion of him, whereas Bill Cosby's entire body of work has been ruined.

Fat Albert still rules. FTW!

This is conflating the artist with the art. It's like people who dislike a gangsta rapper for not being an actual gangster. The persona that he developed is still just as good as it always was. You are letting your emotions get the best of you.

The art and the artist are inextricably linked in comedy, so it's entirely relevant what the artist has done.

If anything it makes it all the funnier.

wanker or not, Louis CK is one of the best comedians on the planet. i swear to god if an accusation against Bill Burr comes out next I’ll be done for good.

It's always hard to see your idols fall. I guess you do have to have to separate the real person from the work sometimes. It took me a long time for me to accept the fact that Cosby was a louse and I can't watch his shows or listen to his comedy records which I loved as a kid, mostly because of the hypocrisy more than anything else.

Maybe history will judge him and others a little differently. I guess we'll see.

honestly if i like the art i couldn’t give a **** about the artist, but there’s definitely a weirdness to it with a comedian. it’s not like it’s a movie or a song, they get on stage and share their life with you. it will never change my appreciation for Louis CKs material, but i think it will always linger in the back of my mind when i watch his stuff.
