I am against the Death Penalty because it doesn't work.

Killing someone who does not value life is not a punishment; I think labor camps is much better suggestion. At least that way soceity could benefit from it's investment.

With the Death Penalty a reality I think there is only one way to handle it.

Only admissible is cases with video evidence and or multiple eye witnesses.

Otherwise it's just not worth the risk.

Also there is no need to abide by an ethical standards in cases of certain guilt. The cheapest, most convenient means will suffice.

1. Solitary confinement is punishment, various things mean breaking prison rules.

For real, Sleepy Jack, down here, they do put them in solitary. Someone that commits a super horrible crime can't be allowed into the general pop without fear of lawsuits from anyone's family who might get killed.

Man, when my SO went to work with the prison, it was a MAJOR eye-opener for both of us. We thought these guys just sort of lolled around, watching the soaps, picking their noses and wondering what kind of eats were on for tonight.

These people are STACKED, HUNDREDS to a 'dorm.' Oh, and those are the medium security dudes. IF the TV is working, they might get to watch something ~ then again, some of the guards are just as likely to change the channel. There is NO air-conditioning, and i'm sorry, but this is south Texas, and if you live in a cement block, you need a/c!

There are LOTS of prison systems that have forums, and you could check some out around where you live ~ your state ~ and see what their gripes are and probably ask them some questions. You might be surprised by what you learn ~ we sure were.
