I don't really blame you. I think people who spend their time criticizing Fox News or the media in general tend to watch too much Jon Stewart and think them doing this shows some sort of political intellect when in reality they're rallying against a tiny sect of something and ignoring the fact that media (at least mainstream media) is there to make money. I mean come on, all news stations in the United States are owned by about five different companies. How can you sit really sit here and go "Oh well Fox News is biased but the other companies that are under the same media conglomerates aren't." It strikes me as silly.

It's not like I think CNN, MSNBC or broadcast news programs are poster boys for excellent journalism. You're right, it's all biased propaganda.

But FoxNews is the best example of bad journalism at it's must excessive, and it's also the most popular news network. It's kinda begging for criticism when it's such a huge force, one that actually impacts other news media I might add.

Come on now that's unfair. Chris Matthews basically admitted that Obama makes him wet and MSNBC compared Obama to John F. Kennedy, MLK and Gandhi in one advertisement. Their goals aren't different either (CNN included) they're just pandering to an audience to make money.

I agree, MSNBC is just as bad.

But I don't have MSNBC or have a grandmother who watches it on a regular basis, this is more of a personal thing.

Well then you and Nas should hook up and make an album about it. That'd be phat y0.

Well yeah, but he's not been one-sided on Obama either though. He clearly meant he made a great speech, and Matthews admittedly lives for the game of politics.

I've read two of his books now, and I can tell you he's not a policy wonk in show (he was a AA/LA for about 10 years collectivly so I'm sure he is) and he self identifies as a non-foreign policy expert.

But as for good journalism, he's tough to beat. He's praised Reagan for his masterful and stealthy use of the telepromoter, then chastized Obama for not being able to make a speech without one. Also, his reponse to Tom Delay's "donor state" hogwash was exactly what journalism should be.

He regularly has Pat Buchanon on, and regularly goes to the mat against Joan Walsh, its hard to paint him with the same brush as Olberman and Schultz who are damn near insufferable with "Worst Person in the World" and "Psycho Talk."

I have a soft spot for Maddow, though I have no illusions about her positioning. She does however give an amazing interview and has a less sensational, more editorial show than her counterparts. She's more of an Edward R. Murrow than Olberman, who's stole his sendoff, will ever be.

I think Sleepy Jack kind of hit it when he said, 'their main goal is to make money, so they give you 2 sides of the same coin. One is conservative, one is liberal, they're both entertainment.'
That is true, but it's not taking in the variable which is that our media is controlled by the New World Order. This is a divisive group that seeks to perpetuate institutional racism, and also wants to keep us uninformed.
In that regard Fox isn't the only one guilty, so is NBC, ABC, CBS, even your local news affiliates, because they're not giving you news. They're only dwelling on the absolute horrific, negative things in the world. This is meant to keep you in a fearful, traumatized, and obedient state.
We get a morphine rush every time we hear about the latest local killing or bombing in the Mid East, so we get our fix, and go to work, only to come back later, and get our morphine rush again, and say, 'Ah, I knew it, the world is a terrible place, I'm lucky to just be alive from one day to the next, so I won't try to learn anything, I'll just focus on surviving in this fearful, crazy world.'
Or something, I like to rant apparently.

I think I'd rather kill myself. Two of the most insufferable individuals to ever live, without a doubt.
