It disturbs me. It's just a feeling I have when I look at it. It represents to me the power of satan.

I am Catholic raised, but feel somewhat more Christian. I have a strong connection with God, and believe in trying to live more like Jesus. Because I am a sinner that can be rather difficult. My religion means to me that you are one with God and he will guide you through the test of life, the maze that leads you to heaven with Him.

After viewing the various belief systems I decided after a time to create my own deity to worship, not a completely original idea (Alan Moore) but regardless it worked out pretty well. I don't really act any different than I would without him, but now I have a variable muse to give the thumbs up when I need it.

This sentence doesn't make sense to me. Catholics are Christians.

There is difference between them. I was brought up Catholic specifically, but don't agree with certain parts of the Catholic church, and relate more to Christianity.

seriously? whatever you relate to more is another sect of christianity, presumably protestantism. christianity encompasses all the christian churches; catholic, protestant, episcopalian, presbyterian, et cetera, ad nausem.

you can't "relate more to christianity than catholicism"... you are relating more to one of those other churches perspectives.

fixed.

Well I knew that they wouldn't be considered the first to practice Monotheism etc so I tried to phrase it like someone would say he was the first one into a band. ie "I was into Coldplay first before other people were."

The difference is that one is a subset of the other: Catholicism is a type of Christianity. The way you're phrasing it, it sounds like you're saying that Catholics are not Christians, which would be an absurd claim to make about the largest Christian denomination in the world.

No I'm not saying that at all. I'm saying I prefer to be considered part of the Christian 'sub-set' rather than Catholic.

I understand what you mean. I was brought up in a Catholic household. And I prefer the Christian ideals as well.

It's not likely for me to go back to believing, though. The church really screwed things up for me.

One thing I always find interesting about these kind of polls is that they seem to invariable include Judaism as a major world religion but not Sikhism, even though there are many millions more Sikhs in the world than Jews.

Good point! Sikhism included :)
