Princess Ameera Al-Taweel but upon further research it looks like she got a divorce last year from the Saudi prince she was married to.

Probably not technically a princess anymore.

I'd like to see the Royals kicked out. Give their palaces, mansions and parks back to the people. Sell their art collections, jewelry and whatever other treasures they have and build some schools or hospitals with the money. They're parasites and an embarrassment.

James 06-29-2014 02:36 PM

They make us money. I don't like it but it's true.

People can say what they want to against the royals, but they add a certain character. Not necessarily with their antics, but just as monarchs from a bygone era. It's just a novel idea that is more interesting that not having them. To illustrate what I'm vaguely talking about, think of the pyramids. I'm sure people probably starved because of the money that the pharaohs spent on their construction, and there's really no way to justify that, but if they hadn't built them Egypt would just be some other country in the Middle East. But with them and their mummies they've fired the imaginations of countless generations. Would you really give that up? The royals may not be that cool, but still, I think they're worth having around for the novelty factor if nothing else.

I'm not saying you are wrong but when they built the pyraminds they supplied a type of ancient beer (or mead) and bread to the workers...at least the workers didn't starved. And mummies are more likely to be found in the Valley of the Kings than under a pyramid... durp http://www.animated-smileys.com/emot...s-egypt-01.gif

I mean the money that the pharaohs collected from taxation probably could have gone to feed some hungry people, and I'm sure came from said hungry people, but instead went to building a large, pointy collection of rocks.

And whether the mummies came from the pyramids or not, they're still associated with them. Mummies came from countless parts of the world, but they only became well known in the place where there were the pyramids.

Edit: But my basic point is that Anubis knows how much time, money, and effort went into something that was ultimately completely pointless and has no value other than as a cultural artifact. But even though whatever hardships that it caused for the people who were affected by its building can't be justified merely by the pyramids' coolness, that doesn't diminish it, and I wouldn't give them.

imo the royal family ceased to be 'royal' when they lost the ability to off with people's heads.

They also cost us money. That 30 million pound wedding, we paid for it. Their private art collection alone is worth an estimated 9 billion pounds and I'm helping pay for their bloody wedding? You gotta laugh. The people running the show - the bankers, the government, the inbreds who believe their blood is royal - they have us all bent double over a barrel while they they take it in turns f*cking us up the arse. Haha. How did it come to this?

And they're also an affront to freedom:

i'm curious as to how they make you money. is it through tourism? or do they just help fuel the tabloid industry?

i picture these people sort of the same as people who dress up in old clothes and shoot canons and **** at colonial sites in virginia like williamsburg and jamestown. yes viewing them is sort of like viewing some historical relic... but ultimately all they are doing is playing dress up.

Yeah tourism, people all over the world like the royal family a lot more than we do. I just find it strange that people still believe they are different from us normals, it's so archaic to raise up a bunch of people over the rest.
