Double Standard? Blackman just trying to get his 40 acres & a mule?
What a perfect example of hypocrisy and reverse racism!
No one owns the N word, it's called freedom of speech, and to oppress anyone from saying what they feel certainly goes against everything the Black American has been fighting for.

I don't care about the horrible, horrible, scary, taboo, evil N word. I just want people to stop caring. Just stop caring, for God's sake. If he's singing the lyrics to a song, who the hell cares? It's a karaoke bar. The guy who tried to play hero and stop him is just as misguided as the kid who decided to sing it. Just as the artist who wrote the song. Everyone's misguided. We're all terrible, terrible people. Especially white people. White people are bad. All white people are inherently racist and all black people are always fighting for their rights against white people. All white people who aren't racist are just pretending. All black people are over sensitive and just want to stir up trouble. There are no good white people. There are no good black people. There are no good people. There are no people.

I'm going to flat out say that if there's any racism or double standard it's against the guy doing karaoke. It's like rappers don't only record flagrantly utilizing the N word in tons of variations, also flagrant antisemitism, and very VERY flagrant homophobia. But, it's ok for some reason...

Indeed. I'm no fan of anybody using the N word, but if you let a black guy get away with saying it and not a white guy, then you're the racist here.

Now, if it were up to me (white guy) I wouldn't even have chosen something to sing/rap that had any innuendos of racism . . . out of respect and out of knowing the boundaries.
There are too many what has been termed 'wiggers' out there, stop pretending your a bad black man, you're not. Be an Individual, start something you can call your own.

After a couple of decades in the music industry one thing I learned immediately is to 'get along' with everyone, because musicians come in ALL flavors . . . and I like them all!

Umm I could understand where you are coming from if it was an open mic night or sometging along those lines or an audition but give the kid a break, he's probably drunk at a karaoke night and trying to have some fun when mr buzzkill interrupts him

EvilChuck 08-14-2011 05:50 PM

A friend of mine (he's black) once went all 'militant black guy' on me once when I was singing along to a rap song, he got really annoyed that I'd dropped an N bomb. I pleaded that I didnt mean any offence, I was just singing, and that I apologised profusely for any offence caused, and wouldnt repeat it ever.

Then after a while of listeing to the music in silence he told me he was joking and just wanted to see my reaction, and that he thought it was a pathetic sight to see me sitting there not singing, or trying to sing without singing the offending lines.

The moral of the story, black people cant be trusted.. I think that was the moral of the story, anyway.

Dirty 08-14-2011 07:19 PM

Any black guy who gets offended or mad about someone singing nigga in a rap song is an idiot. The guy in the vid is a wannabe tough guy. I was hoping for a fight though.

Necromancer 08-14-2011 07:36 PM

Maybe he should pick this single to cover next karaoke night. :p:

OccultHawk 08-14-2011 10:11 PM

I wish white people called black people out like that. There would be a hell of a lot less might makes right thuggery. When did white people become so cowardly?

Itsme 08-14-2011 10:17 PM

Yeah, that's just retarded. Personally I don't like or listen to rap music but the dude was just singing along with a song. If the song is allowed on karaoke then the guy is allowed to say it. That was definitely reverse racism, the white dude didn't do anything wrong.
