Racist* woman gets punched on UK train (tube)
 

Video doing the rounds in England at the moment.

*Not sure if racist or people just looking for racism.

Both the woman and the lad exchange insults, the video cuts then starts again as the lad punches her twice and accuses her of throwing a bottle at him.

What's people's opinions?

Personally I think they're both idiots before any punches had been thrown but if she did throw a bottle at him then you can't really complain when you catch return fire I guess, whether excessive or not.

Never been to London to be fair, however you do see some characters on British public transport.

In Birmingham once, Boxing Day 2006-ish, I got on a bus to a round of applause from a drunk middle aged Irishman, he then shouted "finally, it's not an African" :eek: Also saw a lad go mad at a white boy for wearing Timberland shoes (lynching tree logo or something or other) once as I was going through Aston on a bus. Come to think of it I have seen bloody loads of blatant racism where I live.

What did the woman do that was racist? I just heard a barely decipherable argument with no context then saw a teenage hothead start punching her. Unless there's something I'm missing it's pretty clear to me who should be headed to jail.

Thought I'd typed it, sorry.

"I dress poor so I don't get robbed by motherfuckers like you and smelly fucking Nigerians."

He called her a "white princess" and "Kate Middleton".

Up to the individual to decide whether those comments are racist. There is definite xenophobia in the Nigeria comment so I wouldn't put it past her meaning black people with the 'motherfuckers like you' comment.

EDIT - Forgot to add, the 'racist' is there as I lifted the headline from the Daily Mail (UK tabloid reporting this story) so that's why I put the asterisk there.

I actually thought she looked biracial so that certainly makes the situation weirder. Anyway, even assuming she's a horrible racist bitch, he's still in the wrong for hitting her.

A black girl intimidated me on the London Underground a few years ago. I was ****ing terrified, thought she was going to stab me to be honest. Meanwhile I am standing awkwardly in the corner cause I'm too tall for the underground :laughing:

I don't care what the lady said, it's wrong to knock the **** out of a woman like that. The other guys on the bus should beat his ass.

As a typical American tourist i quite liked the London underground, I even got myself a t-shirt that said "mind the gap" what a riot:laughing:

If the lady was self aware enough to know not to dress well because it may increase likelihood she would get robbed, you might think she'd know that making comments may increase the chances she gets punched in the face.

She's clearly still the victim. Do they have CCTV in the underground?

I've witnessed countless incidents on the London Tube over the years, from arguments, fights and people causing problems in general and in the end got kind of used to it. Luckily I very rarely travel on it these days and so don't have to see the kind of thing in the video.

As Janszoon said, the woman looked a mixture herself and her accent actually sounded foreign to me (but she could be a Brit) it's hard to tell from the quality of the video.

Also he shouldn't have punched her, but if she threw a bottle at him and made racist comments she should be booked by the police for this.
