Has anything else happened? My understanding was that coverage stopped because he backed down after getting slapped by China.

Is that what happened? After Boston, media just dropped off ... it just seemed odd that it was front page, then ... nothing (but yes, I could have missed the news on that one day where China got involved)

although after googling, did find this ...

This is what I was referring to. Also, it sounds like China's gotten even more firm with them recently.

I know it could be considered a dangerous assumption, but I really consider Kim Jong Un to be less than a threat. He's that guy you went to secondary school with who was all, "Give me your lunch money, or I'll cream you!" and you said, "No. I will not." and he said, "You're on notice, bitch!"

He's essentially trying to do Daddy's work, but his life was spent predominately in more, well, democratic areas than South Korea. He talks a lot of ****, but he has still been pulled into first world ****, and just wants to further the legacy as it were. He's a pampered brat, in other words. A fat, Asian, pampered brat. Who doesn't know dick about running a country. Jong Il was more intimidating.

It is a bit hard to be scared of the bastard child of Jackie Chan and the Pillsbury Dough Boy.

I don't think he got any of the Jackie Chan genes.

Something still makes me think he is capable of doing horrendous things if pushed far enough.
